Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of psychological well-being and perceived social support on loneliness in overseas students migrants. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach. The sample in this research was obtained through purposive sampling technique with Google Forms which involved 218 respondents. The measuring instrument to measure loneliness is the UCLA Loneliness Scale short 8 (ULS-8) by Russell (1996) which was adapted by Yildiz et al. (2014). To measure perceived social support, The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) by Zimet (1988) was used which was adapted by Sulistiani, W. et al., (2022). To measure psychological well-being, researchers utilized Ryff's Psychological Well-Being by Carol Ryff (1995) which was adapted by Muttaqin, D. (2022). Data analysis was conducted using Jamovi software version 2.3. In analyzing the data, researchers used multiple linear regression analysis. The results of hypothesis testing show that: (1) psychological well-being negatively affects loneliness, (2) perceived social support negatively affects loneliness, and (3) psychological well-being and perceived social support simultaneously affect loneliness. The effect of psychological well-being and perceived social support simultaneously affects loneliness by 25.3% with an F value of 37.6 and p = < .003. Psychological well-being and perceived social support play an important role in influencing the level of loneliness of Perantaut students. Therefore, Perantaut students who experience loneliness need social support to achieve psychological well-being.
