Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced or one and half spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.

  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

The article proposed to be published in PREMISE should meet the requirements below:

  1. It results from a research or deep analysis of phenomena in the English language and art and/or language instruction of English.
  2. It is written in English only.
  3. It is typed on A4 paper, one and a half spaces, Times New Roman 12 ft, 10 to 20 pages, MS Word Program, a single-page model, and a normal margin.
  4. Cover: article title, name of the author, email address of the writer, affiliation (first page); abstract, and keywords (second page); the third page and so forth consist of an introduction paragraph (with or without subtitle); research method, result and discussion, conclusion and suggestion or implication (with subtitles), and references;
  5. The title should be brief (not more than 20 words) and reflect the content of the article.
  6. The abstract and keywords are written in English.
  7. Abstract consists of 100-250 words; keywords consist of a maximum 5 words, in a separate line after the abstract, arranged alphabetically.
  8. TITLE, METHOD, RESULT AND DISCUSSION OR FINDING AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSION, SUGGESTION, AND REFERENCES ARE WRITTEN IN UPPERCASE;
    1. LEVEL ONE: ALL CAPITALS, BOLD, CENTER JUSTIFICATION
    2. Level Two     : Capitals-lowercase, Bold, Left Justification
    3. Level Three : Capitals-lowercase, Italic-bold, Left Justification
  9. Subtlest are written in Capitalize Each Word and no flush right.  
  10. The introduction paragraph covers background, problems, and objectives of the article or Research Questions.
  11. Research method explains participant/ subject /, design or technique, instrument, and data collecting technique and data analysis.
  12. Result explains the finding, interpretation, and relates the result with previous research result (if any);
  13. Conclusion presents the final judgement of the writer toward the result of the research.
  14. All in-text citation and references refer to APA style manual publication 6th edition 2009;or APA Style 7th 2019 Edition
  15. Reference displays article and the books or other sources quoted in the article are arranged alphabetically;at least 20 sources of articles and books with 75% :25 % ratio.
  16. Three exemplars are sent to the editors (write clearly and completely the writer’s name, address, telephone number, e-mail, and fax (if any);
  17. The author can get the printed version by requesting to premise.editor@gmail.com to send via ground mail and thus complete address is required; additional mailing charge may be applied depending on distance of address.
  18. When the article is published, the author(s) should contribute IDR 500.000 for the development of the journal, and they have the right to print the current publication.
  19. The article is to uploaded via http://fkip.ummetro.ac.id/journal/index.php/english/user/register  and no other options.
