PENGARUH LATAR BELAKANG KEILMUAN DAN ASAL DAERAH TERHADAP KECERDASAN EKOLOGI MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH METRO

Abstract


Damage to the environment both in quality and quantity is showing an increasing trend. A structured effort by design in educational institutions to help increase environmental awareness and attitude in graduates. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect  of scientific background and regional origin to the ecological intelligence of   UM Metro students. The research is descriptive qualitative. Data on student intelligence was obtained through a questionnaire. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The number of samples is 60 students with scientific background in science and 60 students in social studies. The following results were obtained: (1) the relationship between scientific background and ecological intelligence of UM Metro students were: = 14,470 + 0,719X1, with the strength of the relationship between the Y variable on X1 of 0,430, (2) the relationship between regional origin and ecological intelligence are: = 51.338 + 0.766X2, with the strength of the relationship between Y and X2 variables only 0.208, (3) the relationship between scientific background and regional origin with intelligence ecology is: = 17.653 + 0.578X1 + 0.345X2 with the correlation strength of the relationship between variables X1 and X2 to Y of 35.3%. Research conclusions: (1) there is a positive relationship between scientific background and ecological intelligence, (2) there is no positive relationship between students' regional origins and ecological intelligence, (3) there is a positive relationship between scientific background and regional origin as the ecological intelligence of UM Metro students.
