Social Media Overload Dan Kepuasan Belajar Pada Mahasiswa Pengguna Tiktok: Peran Emotional Fatigue Sebagai Mediator

Abstract

The increasingly widespread use of social media among college students can significantly impact the learning experience. One important issue that must be addressed is social media overload, which can trigger emotional fatigue. This study aims to analyze the relationship between social media overload and student learning satisfaction among TikTok users and examine the role of emotional fatigue as a mediator. This quantitative study involved 302 active TikTok users aged 18-25. Data were collected using the Digital Media Overuse Scale, the Emotional Exhaustion Scale, and the Study Satisfaction Scale. Data analysis was conducted using mediation analysis with PROCESS Macro Model 4. The results show that social media overload among TikTok users significantly increases emotional fatigue, which in turn negatively impacts student learning satisfaction. The main finding indicates that emotional fatigue serves as a perfect mediator in this relationship. This proves that the influence of information overload on social media on decreasing student learning satisfaction occurs entirely through the mechanism of emotional fatigue.
