Abstract
The research objective to analyze the effect of problem based learning learning model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities and self-efficacy, to determine the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities and self-efficacy through problem based learning learning models. The type of research is quasi-experimental and the research design is One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research instruments used were pretest and posttest of mathematical problem solving abilities and student self-efficacy q questionnaire. Based on the results of data processing using the Paired Sample t-test, it shows that learning mathematics taught through the problem based learning model can have a positive effect on students' mathematical problem solving abilities and self-efficacy (P_value < 0.05). problem based learning can improve mathematical problem solving skills in the high category (N_gain = 0.73) and self-efficacy. categorized as moderate (N_gain = 0.62). These results reveal that the problem based learning model can be a solution in developing students' mathematical problem solving abilities and self-efficacy so that students' problem solving increases, especially in learning mathematics
