ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN MAHASISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN MASALAH ILL-STRUCTURED BERKONTEKS LOKAL

Salah satu tantangan yang sering muncul di dalam kehidupan sehari-hari adalah masalah yang tidak terstruktur dengan jelas atau ill-structured. Berdasarkan hasil observasi maupun penelitian, masih ditemukan mahasiswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang bersifat kompleks, terbuka, dan berkonteks lokal, padahal kemampuan tersebut penting untuk menghadapi berbagai permasalahan nyata dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah ill-structured berkonteks lokal. Penelitian menggunakan desain explanatory sequential mixed methods yang melibatkan 72 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes penyelesaian masalah ill-structured dan wawancara. Empat subjek dipilih secara purposive untuk dianalisis secara mendalam. Prosedur penelitian meliputi penyusunan dan validasi instrumen tes, pengambilan data, analisis data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam merancang, menjustifikasi, dan mengevaluasi solusi secara komprehensif pada masalah ill-structured berkonteks lokal. Penelitian ini berkontribusi memberikan gambaran mengenai kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah lingkungan yang aktual serta sebagai dasar untuk mempertimbangkan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif.
