Abstract

Emotionally Intelligent Leadership (EIL) plays a crucial role in equipping adolescents with the competencies needed to become future leaders who are self-aware, sensitive to others, and attentive to their surrounding environment. It is essential for schools to assess the emotionally intelligent leadership capacities of high school and vocational school students so that teachers can design appropriate interventions to nurture emotionally intelligent leadership skills. This study aims to examine the construct and provide validation evidence for the Emotionally Intelligent Leadership Scale among high school and vocational school students. The research employs a mixed-method approach: qualitative methods were used for instrument development, while quantitative methods were applied for validity and reliability testing. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics and Rasch Model validation to ensure the instrument’s validity and reliability. The findings indicate that the Emotionally Intelligent Leadership Scale demonstrates strong construct validity and reliability. Furthermore, the scale accurately measures leadership aspects including self-awareness, awareness of others, and awareness of the surrounding environment. The results of this study contribute significantly to the fields of education, psychology, and guidance and counseling.
