Abstract
This classroom action research aims to make students able to study independently or in groups and be able to take responsibility for all individual and group assignments, 85% of students can achieve competence according to the standard values that have been set, and teachers can improve strategies and quality of the learning process in science subjects. Quantity and unit material through cooperative learning type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division). The research was carried out through 3 learning cycles with data collection techniques carried out through observations (observations), documents (portfolios) and referring to student learning outcomes. The results of the research in three cycles that were carried out stated that STAD could increase student learning activities on the material of quantities and units. active in learning. At the third meeting of the third cycle, the group working documents in the category of very good 75.00% had met the performance indicators ≥75% worked very well. At the third meeting of the third cycle, the average value of the class was 78.33 with a completeness of 88.89% and had met the performance indicators, namely ≥85% of students scored ≥65.
