The purpose of this research was to develope mathematics instructional materials with ICARE model which were valid, practical, and effective. The instructional materials which were developed in this study consisted of mathematics worksheet. Data were collected by using observation sheet of instructional materials implementation, student’s and teacher’s response questionnaire, and problem solving test. The collected data analyzed descriptively. The result of this research showed that the developed mathematics instructional materials are categorized “very high” in validity. Based on the results of try out which were conducted, it was obtained that the instructional materials had fulfilled the practicality aspect. It could be seen from: 1) the instructional implementation on limited try out belonged to practical and instructional implementation on the first and the second field try out belonged to very practical; 2) the use of developed mathematics instructional materials which were observed from student’s response belonged to practical; and 3) teacher’s response towarded the use of mathematics instructional materials belonged to very practical in category. The instructional materials had fulfilled the effectiveness aspects which were seen from: 1) the problem solving skills of students on the first and the second field try out were good in category (had exceeded the standard minimal score). The characteristics of the learning using the developed mathematics instructional materials were: 1) the learning began by introducing students real phenomena and problem in daily life related to the material; 2) giving the students a freedom in giving opinions and discussions; 3) generating social interaction and self-confidence of students, 4) giving the students the learning experience in using GeoGebra; and 5) giving opportunities for students to think about alternative solutions in solving problems.Ni Made Dwijayani

<p><em>This research is aimed to create a learning trajectory of linear functions concept using mathematical modeling.</em> <em>The applied learning approach is the Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs). Design research was chosen as the research method consisting of three main phases; preliminary design, teaching experiments, and retrospective analysis. This research was conducted in class X in a public senior high school in Palembang. The result showed the design activity can encourage students to look at the form of modeling (charts/schemes/equation) that students make themself. Through steps on mathematical modeling takes students into the definition of the power to a linear functions, so the students had the idea in providing recommendations to solve real problems in life.</em></p>Dyah RahmawatiDarmawijoyo DarmawijoyoHapizah Hapizah

http://ojs.fkip.ummetro.ac.id/index.php/matematika/article/view/1353
This study aims to determine the minimum spanning tree of a complete graph K_n with weight constraints and completion using the cutting plane method. The cutting plane method is one of the algorithms included in the exact method. This algorithm works by reducing the solution area so that it becomes narrower. As a result, the feasible solutions that will be investigated become less and less. This is because the cutting plane method works based on the optimal linear programming solution of relaxation solved by the simplex method. In this paper we give illustration of the algorithm applied for two cases, one for K_4 and one for K_5.Dewi SuhikaWamiliana Wamiliana

Learning model used is FSLC and conventional learning model. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The population in this research is the students of class VIII SMP N 1 Trimurjo academic year 2017/2018. The sample of this research is taken by using cluster random sampling technique with sample in experiment class as much as 32, and control class counted 31. The result of this research are as follows: 1) There is difference of problem solving ability between student learning by using FSLC learning model and model of learning conventional. 2) Problem-solving abilities in highly motivated students are better than those with moderate motivation and problem-solving skills in better-motivated students than low motivated students. 3) There is no interaction between FSLC and conventional learning model and learning motivation toward math problem solving ability. The FSLC learning model provides better mathematical problem-solving skills than conventional learning models in both high and medium motivations.</em></p>Komariya KomariyaNurul FaridaIra Vahlia

<p><em>Error analysis is integral part of mathematics learning. This qualitative research aims to describe the types and causes of student error in solving combinatorics problem based on cognitive style. Subjects are high school students with field independent (FI) and field dependent (FD) cognitive style. Error analysis refers to Newman's error analysis. FI and FD students have same errors that is comprehension error at stage of understand problem; process skills error and encoding error at the stage of carrying out the plan. The cause of the error is viewed from the cognitive factors, namely understanding students' concepts in solving problems. FI students have a deeper understanding and make careless error while the FD students have a lack of understanding of the concept which cause more error. The cause of errors in both students is also due to the accumulation of errors at stage of understand problem.</em><em></em></p>Yunis SulistyoriniDian Fitri ArgariniNok Izatul Yazidah

<p>This study is aimed to analyze probabilistic thinking of elementary school students based on math ability and gender differences. Descriptive explorative approach was used to describe in depth probabilistic thinking of boys with high, middle, low math ability and girls with high, middle, low math ability. The result showed that probabilistic thinking of boy with high math ability indicated multistructural because his thinking quantitative and proportional. While probabilistic thinking of boys with middle, low math ability and girls with high, middle, low math ability indicated unistructural because their thinking quantitative and non proportional. Beside that, boys’ thinking in solving probability tasks was more analytical and flexible than girls’ thinking. So, students with math ability difference, gave difference response in solving probability tasks. This result found new strategy in solving probability comparison task. This result could contribute to curriculum developer to introduce probability in elementary school level and teachers could use discussion method in teaching probability material.</p>dwi ivayana sariI Ketut Budayasadwi juniati

http://ojs.fkip.ummetro.ac.id/index.php/matematika/article/view/1277
<p>English Mathematics course mostly deals with comprehension questions, grammar and vocabulary related to the field of Mathematics. The goal is that students have the confidence in communicating using English as well as utilize various sources of English teaching materials. But in reality, they usually experience several problems as the medium of instruction changes from their mother tongue to another language. This phenomenon in the case of Mathematics education brings the consequences faced by Mathematics educators. This paper describes the understanding of Mathematicsematical concepts in English textbooks (Fraction) on the students of English Mathematics Study Course of Mathematics Education of Madura University. The data that used in this research is the result of the translation scripts of students at the Mathematics education department on the fractional concepts in English textbooks, observations on the student presentation and interviews. The result of this research are, Subjects still have not been able to understand the meaning of fractions that are linked in real objects and clear Mathematicsematical models., subjects still used word-for-word translation, translating without providing meaningful information and also lack of vocabulary.</p>Rohmah IndahwatiEvha Nazalatus Sa'adiyah
