DAYA LARVASIDA EKSTRAK DAUN TAHI KOTOK (Tagetes erecta L.) TERHADAP MORTALITAS LARVA Culex quinquefasciatus

Abstract


Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito acts as a vector of filariasis (elephantiasis) and Japanese encephalitis (inflammation of the brain). Control and prevention of diseases caused by Culex quinquefasciatus. can be done to inhibit the vector population by administering synthetic larvicides. This synthetic insecticide can cause residues that can be harmful to human health and difficult to degrade. A potential alternative is an insecticide material from a plant insecticide plant, Tagetes erecta L. potential as a vegetable insecticide, terthienyl substances contained in Tagetes erecta L. will inhibit the work of various enzymes present in the body of mosquito larvae. This research aimed to determine the larvicidal power of the extracts of Tagetes erecta L. leaves on the mortality of Culex quinquefasciatus larvae. This research used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications. Based on the results of the F test, it was calculated that f count (180.294)> f table (0.05) giving extract of Tagetes erecta L. leaves significantly affected the mortality of Culex quinquefasciatus larvae.
